The tablecloth is recreated after a museum artifact (Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts of Ukraine, Inv. № И-904), once belonging to the household of the Ukrainian nobility during the Hetmanate era. Such tablecloths adorned festive tables in hetman residences and noble estates, highlighting refinement and the high status of their owners.
Blue symbolizes purity and spirituality, brown stands for stability and prosperity, while golden highlights add festive grandeur. The floral motifs carried protective meaning and at the same time served as a marker of belonging to the cultural elite.
This tablecloth is not merely part of table setting but a living memory of Ukrainian history. It recreates the atmosphere of nobility and tradition, offering the opportunity to experience the grandeur of the Hetman era at today’s festive table.
